My Story

I did not create Pace With Peace because I had everything figured out. I created it because, for a long time, I felt like I was trying to figure everything out while still trying to function like everything was fine.

I live with fibromyalgia, fatigue, and a mind that has often found it hard to switch off. From the outside, I looked like I was coping. Inside, it often felt very different.

This space was created from lived experience, not from the outside looking in.

For a long time, I felt like I was pushing through life

I was tired a lot. Not just normal tired, but the kind of tired that sleep did not seem to fix. My body hurt in ways that did not always make sense. My energy could disappear quickly, and if I overdid it, I would pay for it later.

I often felt wired and tired at the same time. My mind would race, my body would feel on edge, and relaxing was not as easy as people made it sound.

One of the hardest parts was not always being understood. Sometimes I did not even understand it myself.

I thought the answer was to try harder

For a long time, I thought I just needed to be more disciplined, more motivated, more organised, better at routines, better at switching off.

I put a lot of pressure on myself to keep up, push through, and not fall behind. But the more I pushed, the more my body seemed to push back.

Eventually, I realised that what I needed was not more pressure. I needed more understanding.

Learning changed everything

When I started learning about the nervous system, chronic pain, stress responses, neuroplasticity, and the brain-body connection, things slowly started to make more sense.

I began to understand that my body was not broken. It was trying to protect me. It had just been in survival mode for a very long time.

That changed the way I spoke to myself, the way I treated my body, and the pace I expected from myself.

Why I created Pace With Peace

I created Pace With Peace because I know how lonely and confusing it can feel when you are trying to hold your life together while your energy, your body, and your mind do not feel reliable.

I know what it feels like to cancel plans, to push through work when you feel awful, and to look fine on the outside while feeling like you are barely keeping up on the inside.

I also know how overwhelming the internet can be when you are searching for answers. When you are tired or in pain, too much information can feel like no help at all.

So I wanted to create a space that felt different. Slower. Calmer. Kinder. Easier to understand.

What this space means to me

Pace With Peace is the space I wish I had when I was trying to make sense of everything. A space that explains the science in normal language. A space that offers small things to try, not a list of things you should be doing. A space that understands that some days, just getting through the day is enough.

If you are new here, the best place to begin is Start Here. If you want to understand the framework behind this space, read The Journey.
